Youth Services of Tulsa benefits greatly from run!
The 2010 Tulsa Run will raise $25,000 for Youth Services of Tulsa.
The purpose of Youth Services of Tulsa is to keep the promise of youth by meeting the needs of adolescents in the Tulsa community.
The organization helps youths and their families through a spectrum of unique services and programs, including counseling, transitional living, arts instruction, a First Offender Program and its Youth Leadership Forum.
Since its inception in 1969, Youth Services of Tulsa has helped underserved youth populations, including youthful offenders and the homeless. It remains the only agency in the Tulsa area that provides crisis services to homeless youth and young people in crisis, through the Adolescent Emergency Shelter, Street Outreach, Safe Place and other programs.
The money donated by Tulsa Run will be used to help the organization maintain its current level of service in a faltering economy, filling in the funding gaps caused by reduced state contracts and a lapse in donations.
