Frequently Asked Questions
How do I register?
Runners can register online, by mail, or in person at the Tulsa Run office. See the registration page for more details.
Where do I pick up my packet?
Runners should pick up their packets at the Fitness Fair on Friday, October 30 at the OU-Tulsa Learning Center, 43rd and Yale. Free parking is across the street at Promenade Mall.
Where is the best place for my friends and family to watch?
Spectators can watch the race and cheer on their favorite runner from anywhere along the race route, but many choose to cheer from the Finish Line Festival near the BOK Arena (2nd Street and Denver Avenue). The Finish Line Festival not only provides a great view of the race, but also offers fun and entertainment for the whole family.
What’s the course like?
The 2009 Tulsa Run course offers a classic urban race atmosphere with a wonderful tour through some of Tulsa’s most scenic and interesting parts of the city. The course starts in the heart of downtown, runs through sections of the historic Cherry Street, continues through riverfront parks along the Arkansas River, then ends back downtown near the Bank of Oklahoma Arena. See the Course Map page for more information.
What sort of training is recommended?
Our Platinum Sponsor, Hillcrest HealthCare System, has designed a week-by-week training program specifically for the Tulsa Run. See the Schedule of Events for training session schedules.
Where can I park on Race Day?
Runners and spectators can park downtown on the streets, where appropriate, and in open parking lots.
How can I get my family involved?
Runners of all ages can participate in the Fun Run. The 2km (about one mile) run is the perfect distance for beginners, children and just for fun. Consider training for the 5km with your family to promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage exercising.
Can I walk?
Yes - you can participate in any of the distances by walking. Participants must finish by noon when the roads are reopened.
