Finish Line Festival

The Finish Line Festival is where the runners reunite with their families and friends after the run. Whether you come to cheer on a friend, do some running yourself, or just take in the sights, the Finish Line Festival has something for everyone. There is a medical tent and massage unit in this area administering aid to runners and walkers as well as inflatables for the kids to enjoy. Local performers will entertain the crowd as they wait for their loved ones to complete the race. QuikTrip, Pepsi, Wild Oats and other vendors will be providing food and drinks to runners and walkers.

Keeping Tulsa Runners on their Feet: Post Tulsa Run Soft Tissue Work

Provided by OU-Tulsa

Relief from running comes from the skillful application of soft tissue work consisting of stretching and myofascial release provided by OU physical therapy and occupational therapy students and faculty.

Relief from the exertion of running 5K or 15K is just a few steps away from the Tulsa Run finish line. Physical therapy and occupational therapy faculty members and students from the College of Allied Health Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Oklahoma Schusterman Center in Tulsa will provide post-Tulsa Run care consisting of soft tissue manual therapy, which includes muscle stretching and myofascial release. Benefits of soft tissue work include enhanced muscle relaxation following exertion, greater tissue extensibility and range of motion, improved local blood flow, decreased discomfort, and an overall feeling of relaxation. The physical therapy and occupational therapy volunteers will also educate runners in exercises and activities to optimize their recovery and to promote ongoing wellness. Physicians and residents from the OU Family Medicine clinic will be on-hand to provide fitness related consultation, including body mass index calculation, tips on being a healthy runner, and other useful information. The tent providing the soft tissue work is located very near the finish line, and runners can find it by looking for the OU banner, or simply by following the crowd of relieved and relaxed runners exiting the treatment area.
